In October 2018 a court entered a final judgment against Katherine Hanratty, who bought Heartland Payment Systems stock on tips from her partner, its former CEO Robert Carr. The release gives $277,980 for disgorgement and interest and a $250,628 penalty; the SEC's case against Carr continued.

What is alleged to have happened
The SEC alleged that Carr gave Hanratty $1 million to open a brokerage account and told her to buy Heartland shares, and she bought more than 11,000 before the merger announcement and sold in one day afterwards. Hanratty consented to an injunction under Section 10(b) and Rule 10b-5. The stored figures split the combined $277,980 using the $250,628 disgorgement shown in the later Carr release, leaving about $27,352 as interest.
