What is alleged to have happened

The Securities and Exchange Commission announced this matter on August 2, 2023 as release LR-25798. The complaint alleges that Tadrus and his firm raised over $5 million from at least 31 members of a religious community for a fund that was never invested, using at least $1.4 million to pay returns to other investors in Ponzi fashion. A conduct-based injunction and bar are sought, not imposed.

This library tags the matter as a Ponzi scheme because the document describes returns to earlier investors paid from later investors' money, as alleged or found. The tagging is ours, not the regulator's: agencies charge statutory provisions, not technique names.

The SEC reported on December 17, 2025 that the Eastern District of New York entered a final consent judgment against Mina Tadrus on December 12, 2025. It follows a bifurcated consent judgment of August 12, 2025, in which he agreed to permanent injunctions, a conduct-based restriction on dealing in securities outside his own account, and an officer-and-director bar. The final judgment orders disgorgement of $4,070,350 and prejudgment interest of $72,100, treated as satisfied by the restitution order in United States v. Tadrus, and turns frozen assets over to the criminal court.

The release does not say how the claims against Tadrus Capital LLC ended, so that defendant was not checked. This case appears twice in the library under releases LR-25798 and LR-25823, which both concern No. 1:23-cv-5708.

Same matter

The library links these 3 records because they appear to concern one matter: the same lead defendant, an overlapping technique tag and close filing dates, or a shared court docket or a release that cites the other. Records are listed by date filed.

This grouping is the library's, made by matching names, techniques, dates and citations when the site is built. It is not the regulator's or a court's determination that the records are one case, and it errs towards missing a link rather than making a false one.
