Checked against the primary document on October 4, 2026. The library's summary, tags and figures for this record were compared with the regulator's own document by an AI model (Claude) following written instructions, with sampled and disputed records read a second time. No lawyer has reviewed them. A checked record can still contain errors, and checked does not mean endorsed. See how we check records or report a correction.
In May 2019 the SEC charged Mark Ramsey, a roommate and business partner of former NFL player Mychal Kendricks, with insider trading in Kendricks's account. On 30 August 2022 a Pennsylvania federal court entered a consent judgment enjoining Ramsey from the charged provisions, with no money amount reported for him. What is alleged to have happened
the Securities and Exchange Commission announced this matter on May 21, 2019 as release LR-24474. The respondents named are Mark "Christian" Ramsey (1 individual, 0 entities).
This library tags the matter as insider trading, based on the conduct the regulator describes. Each tag links to a page explaining how that technique works, what statute it engages, and what penalties comparable actions have attracted. The tagging is ours, not the regulator's: agencies charge statutory provisions, not technique names.
The release references a parallel criminal proceeding. Where a criminal case exists, the civil and criminal outcomes are recorded separately, because they resolve on different standards of proof.
Outcome. The SEC's September 2022 release says the Eastern District of Pennsylvania entered final consent judgments on 30 August 2022 against Ramsey and the original tipper, Damilare Sonoiki. Ramsey's judgment permanently enjoins him from Section 10(b), Rule 10b-5, Section 14(e) and Rule 14e-3 violations; the release states no disgorgement or penalty for him (a $15,000 penalty applies to Sonoiki only). It also reports that Ramsey was convicted at trial in the parallel case and sentenced to 60 days in prison, three years of supervised release and a $5,000 fine; because the sentence is stated in days, no sentence in months is recorded. The civil judgment was by consent.
