Checked against the primary document on October 3, 2026. The library's summary, tags and figures for this record were compared with the regulator's own document by an AI model (Claude) following written instructions, with sampled and disputed records read a second time. What is alleged to have happened

The SEC alleged that Lozuk, who had signed a confidentiality letter and was bound by company policy, told a friend a week before the July 2016 announcement; the friend bought 18,000 Sequenom shares over two days and sold on the day of the announcement, when the price rose 176 percent. The friend agreed to disgorge $26,643 under a deferred prosecution agreement and is not a defendant here.
