Venues named most often in manipulation actions
Venue counts measure where enforcement activity is concentrated and where regulators have surveillance reach, not which venues have the most manipulation. A venue that runs good surveillance and refers cases will appear more often, not less.
How this was calculated
Venues are extracted by keyword matching against the release text. One action can name several venues and is counted for each.
What this chart does not show
- This is a count of mentions in enforcement releases, not a measure of how much manipulation occurs on each venue.
- A venue with strong surveillance that refers cases to regulators will appear more often than one with weak surveillance. The ranking partly inverts what a reader might assume it measures.
- Offshore venues are systematically underrepresented, because conduct there is less often charged.
