Settled

Checked against the primary document on October 2, 2026. The library's summary, tags and figures for this record were compared with the regulator's own document by an AI model (Claude) following written instructions, with sampled and disputed records read a second time. No lawyer has reviewed them. A checked record can still contain errors, and checked does not mean endorsed. See how we check records or report a correction.

In November 2024 the SEC settled with broker-dealer Webull over deficient suspicious activity reports filed between 2018 and 2022, which left out required detail about suspicious trades. Webull paid a $125,000 civil penalty. No insider trading by Webull or its customers is charged.

What is alleged to have happened

The Securities and Exchange Commission issued the order on November 22, 2024.

The order finds the SAR narratives omitted required information, such as the timing, securities and amounts of trades and why they were suspicious. One report concerned an account the firm itself had restricted because of a high probability of insider trading, which is where the earlier tag came from.

The violation is of Section 17(a) of the Exchange Act and Rule 17a-8, so the tag has been removed.
