Checked against the primary document on October 2, 2026. The library's summary, tags and figures for this record were compared with the regulator's own document by an AI model (Claude) following written instructions, with sampled and disputed records read a second time. No lawyer has reviewed them. A checked record can still contain errors, and checked does not mean endorsed. See how we check records or report a correction.
In 2015 the SEC settled an administrative proceeding against Stephen M. Coleman, founder of Daedalus Capital, imposing remedial sanctions based on Missouri and Illinois orders against him.

What is alleged to have happened
On July 29, 2015 the SEC accepted a settlement with Stephen M. Coleman, who ran Daedalus Capital, LLC. The order is a follow-on to a Missouri cease-and-desist order and court judgment that barred him from offering unregistered securities in that state, and an Illinois consent order finding that he sold a note by false promises of safety and moved $50,000 of Daedalus money to his own account.
The unregistered-offering findings are state-law findings recited as background. The SEC order finds no Section 5 violation, so the record carries no technique tag.
This library does not assign a technique tag to the matter, because no technique page in the current taxonomy describes the conduct the document records.
For the regulator's own account of the facts, read the primary document linked above. This page deliberately summarises the structured record rather than reproducing the release.
