What is alleged to have happened

the Securities and Exchange Commission announced this matter on February 13, 2017 as release 34-80027. The respondent named is Sidoti & Company, LLC (1 entity). The Commission found that from November 3, 2014, when the affiliated hedge fund began trading in issuers covered by Sidoti's research and some of its banking clients, until July 10, 2015, Sidoti had no written policies and procedures to prevent misuse of material nonpublic information by its founder, chief executive and other people making the fund's investment decisions. It consented to a censure, a cease-and-desist order under Exchange Act Section 15(g) and a $100,000 civil penalty.

The order charges a policy failure and finds no instance of insider trading, so this library no longer tags it as insider trading. No other technique fits, so it carries no technique tag.
