What is alleged to have happened
The complaint, filed September 28, 2017, alleged the perpetrator took several million dollars from investor funds to buy a luxury home, vehicles and private jet charters and to fund other businesses. The release also warns investors about paid-to-click schemes. The release does not name the other defendants, so only the lead name is listed.
Outcome: a judgment entered March 19, 2019 by the Southern District of Florida, granting the SEC's motion to set remedies against Fort Berbel, finds him liable for disgorgement of $7,025,000 with prejudgment interest of $948,191.70, jointly and severally with Fort Marketing Group LLC, and for civil penalties of $7,025,000. It says relief defendant Sibades, LLC is jointly liable for $1,418,717.38 of the disgorgement. The scanned copy we read does not show what led to the motion or whether Fort Berbel consented, and does not cover the other defendants. It does not show whether anything was collected.
