What is alleged to have happened

The Securities and Exchange Commission announced this action on September 17, 2024 as litigation release LR-26110, filing civil action 2:24-cv-06517 in the Eastern District of New York. The defendants are NanoBit Limited, Radiant Horizons Limited, Sweet Karma Fashion Inc., Zhao Tropical Deli Inc., Jiajie Liu, Fei Liao and Hua Zhao (3 individuals, 4 entities). Earlier versions of this record merged most of the names into one entity.

The complaint alleges that from about October 2023 to at least June 2024 scheme participants impersonated financial industry professionals in WhatsApp groups to win investors' trust, then steered them to the supposed NanoBit crypto asset trading platform, which falsely claimed an SEC-registered broker affiliate, and to fake initial coin offerings. The platform was allegedly fake: investors' money went to scheme participants who wired more than $2 million to Hong Kong bank accounts and misappropriated hundreds of thousands of dollars of crypto assets.

The complaint charged violations of the antifraud provisions and asked for injunctions, disgorgement with interest and penalties. The allegations remain unproven. The conduct is a fraudulent investment scam; it uses chat groups as the delivery channel but does not involve promoting a stock to move its price, so this library applies no technique tag and no relief is recorded.

Outcome. SEC litigation release LR-26576 (June 29, 2026) reports a final judgment by default entered on June 16, 2026 in the Eastern District of New York against four entities and two individuals. It enjoins them from violating Section 17(a) of the Securities Act and Section 10(b) and Rule 10b-5. NanoBit Limited owes $532,649 in disgorgement, $81,957 in interest and a $1,182,251 penalty. Radiant Horizons, Zhao Deli and Sweet Karma each owe a $1,182,251 penalty. Jiajie Liu owes $60,603 in disgorgement, $9,485 in interest and a $50,000 penalty, and Hua Zhao owes $4,500, $704 and $50,000. The stored totals add these amounts across the six defendants. A default judgment means the defendants did not contest the case. The release does not mention Fei Liao, one of the seven named respondents, so this outcome covers six and we did not check the seventh.

The library links these 2 records because they appear to concern one matter: the same lead defendant, an overlapping technique tag and close filing dates, or a shared court docket or a release that cites the other. Records are listed by date filed.

This grouping is the library's, made by matching names, techniques, dates and citations when the site is built. It is not the regulator's or a court's determination that the records are one case, and it errs towards missing a link rather than making a false one.
