AMF France v. Régis Lebrun (insider trading, 2021)
Settled
Checked against the primary document on October 5, 2026. The library's summary, tags and figures for this record were compared with the regulator's own document by an AI model (Claude) following written instructions, in a single reading of the French decision; an independent second reading of 60 of the AMF records agreed on every field for 54 and on the core fields for 59. No lawyer has reviewed them. A checked record can still contain errors, and checked does not mean endorsed. See how we check records or report a correction.
In March 2021 the AMF agreed a settlement with Régis Lebrun, former chief executive of a French food company, over sales of shares and warrants in December 2016 to March 2017 ahead of weak sales and results, and unreported insider transactions; he agreed to pay EUR 225,000.

What is alleged to have happened
The AMF published an administrative settlement (accord de composition administrative) with Régis Lebrun, dated 4 March 2021. This is not a contested sanctions hearing. The agreement took effect only once the AMF Collège validated it and the Commission des sanctions homologated it; the document gives the signing date but not the homologation date, so the signing date is used here.
Mr Lebrun was chief executive of a French charcuterie and ready-meals producer (anonymised as X) between June 2009 and October 2019; its shares were then on Euronext, later moved to Euronext Growth Paris. The AMF opened its investigation in October 2017.
It alleged that between 17 December 2016 and 7 March 2017 he sold, directly or through his company YSATIS, 8,592 shares and 10,638 warrants while holding two pieces of inside information: the size of the fall in fourth-quarter 2016 revenue (known internally by 8 December 2016, announced 26 January 2017) and the sharp drop in 2016 results. The AMF put the avoided loss at EUR 66,417. A second grievance was that he did not report his transactions as a senior manager in 2016 and 2017.
He agreed to pay EUR 225,000 to the Treasury within fifteen days of homologation. The agreement records that the Parquet national financier told the AMF on 28 September 2020 that it did not wish to bring a prosecution against him for these facts, so no criminal case is stated.
What the record does not show: the agreement describes conduct that the person "could" or "would" have committed, so it records allegations and undertakings, not a finding of breach, and it is not styled as a fine. It does not show whether any later challenge occurred.
